Enjoying Both Entrepreneurship and Parenting in Ogano!
Nice to meet you. My name is Elena Kudo. I was born in Moscow, grew up in Aizuwakamatsu City, and moved to Ogano Town, Saitama Prefecture, in 2019. Currently, I am a member of the Ogano Town Regional Development Cooperative and run a meadery called “Deerlet Field Brewery,” specializing in honey wine.
This brewery was established by renovating the former Kurao Junior High School, which had been closed. Using local honey from Chichibu as well as honey from overseas, we produce mead that leverages the resources of the region. Our mead is crafted with traditional techniques while offering a new and unique value, bringing enjoyment to many.
I was drawn to the nature and warmth of the people in Ogano Town, which ultimately inspired me to move here. Since relocating, I have immersed myself in the community and pursued new challenges. In particular, I focus on utilizing local resources and repurposing facilities, such as former schools, to create new value in the region.
Personally, I embrace a lifestyle that combines “entrepreneurship,” “child-rearing,” and “regional revitalization.” By balancing work and family life, I aim to propose a fulfilling way of living in rural areas and support those who wish to embark on similar new endeavors. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to connecting with you!
